Nebo, NC 28761 Telephone: 843-628-5021 tom@mrlowcountry.com Job Title: Wound Care and Hyperbaric Nurse Location: Gillette, WY area Full Time – Onsite Job Summary: We are seeking a Wound Care and Hyperbaric Nurse which will be responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive wound care program, which includes hyperbaric oxygen therapy as an integral treatment option. This individual will provide specialized care for patients with complex or chronic wounds and manage all wound care services for clinic patients and external referrals. The Wound Care and Hyperbaric Nurse must be highly skilled in both wound care and hyperbaric medicine, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and leading program development to meet evolving healthcare needs. Supervisory Responsibilities: Develop, lead, and manage the Wound Care program, including training and supervising nursing staff or support personnel involved in these services. Collaborate with clinic leadership to recruit, mentor, and expand the wound care team. Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and quality benchmarks. Program Development: Design and implement a state-of-the-art wound care program, incorporating advanced technologies and evidence-based protocols. Integrate hyperbaric oxygen therapy into the wound care treatment plans, working closely with the Director of Hyperbaric Program. Identify growth opportunities for the wound care program, including marketing efforts to external providers and communities to increase patient referrals. Collaborate with physicians, clinic leadership, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the program's alignment with best practices and patient outcomes. Patient Care: Provide expert wound care management, including wound assessment, treatment, and ongoing monitoring. Develop individualized, evidence-based wound care treatment plans. Perform advanced wound care treatments such as debridement, dressing changes, negative pressure wound therapy, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). Collaborate closely with the hyperbaric team to coordinate patient care requiring HBOT. Educate patients and families on wound care, prevention, and self-care techniques to promote healing and prevent recurrence. Coordination & Collaboration: Serve as the main liaison between the wound care team, hyperbaric team, physicians, and other healthcare providers. Coordinate care with external healthcare providers and hospitals to manage patient referrals and ensure timely care delivery. Work with other specialists to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to complex wound management. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate, detailed documentation of all patient care, treatment plans, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements for wound care and hyperbaric therapy. Stay updated on the latest regulatory guidelines for both fields and ensure program adherence. Education & Training: Provide education and training to clinic staff, patients, and caregivers on the principles and advancements in wound care and hyperbaric medicine. Stay current on industry advancements, and attend continuing education courses related to wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Mentor and train clinical staff as the wound care and hyperbaric program grows. Performs other related duties as assigned. Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Wyoming. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Master’s degree a plus. Wound Care Certification (WCC), Certified Wound Specialist (CWS), or Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) preferred. Certification in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (CHT/CHRN) preferred, or willingness to obtain within a designated time frame. Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in wound care nursing, with a proven track record of program management or development. Experience with advanced wound care techniques and the latest wound care technologies. Prior experience working in a hyperbaric medicine program or with hyperbaric oxygen therapy as part of wound care treatment plans is strongly preferred. Leadership or supervisory experience in a clinical setting is a plus. Required Skills/Abilities: Expertise in advanced wound care technologies, therapies, and treatment protocols. Knowledge and experience in hyperbaric oxygen therapy and its integration into wound care. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop and expand a comprehensive wound care and hyperbaric program. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families. Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration across departments. Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and healthcare documentation. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a diving physical. Strong organizational and time-management skills, balancing patient care with operational responsibilities.
