Charleston, SC 29412 843-628-5021 tom@mrlowcountry.com Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Verify accuracy of subcontractor proposals/scope of work · Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents · Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. · Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information. · Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. · Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data. · Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications. · Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements. · Provide and maintain unit pricing and database for material and labor costing · Formulate cost breakdown from estimates, and assist PM with costs for negotiations. · Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications. Qualifications and Experience: · Previous experience estimating projects into the $5 million range · Experience with estimating software and spreadsheet design · Understand contractual terms and conditions · Ability to use Sage/ Timberline · Ability to effectively communicate, verbally/written, with subcontractors, internal and external customers · Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the construction field in similar or related position · Must have a valid Driver’s License · Employee management skills · Must have a sense of urgency to meet deadlines · Great Customer Service Skills · Self-motivated · Time management skills · Able to work without direct supervision Work Environment: · Ability to work in an office and in the field in a fast-paced environment with variable working hours · Ideal candidate will have the desire, ability and ambition to succeed. · Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
