Job Title: Field Service Location: Spartanburg, SC area Full Time: On-Site Summary: Field Service interacts with the customer to ensure that the products provided are fully operational. They listen and respond to the customer's concerns and diagnose and solve problems with equipment. Their goal is 100% customer satisfaction. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance services to our customers. This is a full-time remote position. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Respond to customer needs as instructed by the Field Service Manager or Quality Manager • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failures in the field. • Work with engineering to resolve difficult issues. • Assist in the development of Field Modification Instructions • Track and report completion status of field modifications • Manage response and repair times as estimated for each assigned job. • Complete tasks effectively in a timely manner. • Manage and Train Sub-contractors to ensure that the work can be completed in an efficient, proficient, and timely manner. • Help rework and diagnose repair and warranty related returns. • Assist in P-FMEA and Control Plan Creation • Assist in first installation and commissioning activities. • Possess the knowledge necessary to implement all field related policies and procedures. • Be prepared, mentally and physically, to respond quickly to field emergencies. • Excellent customer service skills • Work with peers and sub-contractors to complete tasks successfully • Interact with customers and communicate effectively. • Communicate regularly with Quality Field Manager or Quality Manager to address customer issues, scheduling, and to provide feedback on the experience with the customer. Supervisory Responsibilities: Sub-Contractors. Education and/or Experience: • Bachelor's Degree • Minimum of 3 years of experience in field service within the Automotive, Locomotive, Shipping and/or Bus sectors. • Good knowledge of relevant technologies such as pneumatic and electrical parts. • Ability to take initiative to accomplish tasks. • Comfortable working on retrofit and installation of new equipment. • Ability to work well under pressure in difficult circumstances. • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to treat customers with tact and respect. • Technical sales experience is a plus • Must have a updated passport or in the process of applying for one Physical Demands: Ability to travel by air, train or car across U.S. and International time zones and work effectively. Work Environment: Quality field environment, including outdoor areas. May involve exposure to cold and hot temperatures, humidity, dust, vapors, fumes, vibration and other loud noises from the plant and customer locations in the field.
