As part of our expansion strategy, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality Technician to lead initiatives and drive growth in this key segment. Summary: Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, records inspection results, ability to reach out to external sources (customer and vendor) and effectively communicate any root cause/corrective actions that are required. Essential Duties & Responsibilities may include, but not limited, to the following: Adheres to all safety precautions and PPE requirements. Adheres to all 5S practices. Keep work area clean and organized. Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor. Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work. Has the authority to release product for shipping process. Supports customer First Article Inspection process and performs measurements per drawing/specification. Supports and provides input to the internal First Article Inspection. Records inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database. Supports customer Pre Shipment Inspections and Release Notice processes. Supports customer and vendor 8D (Root cause and corrective action) investigation and reporting. Ability to perform internal and external audits Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed. Adheres to applicable procedures and/or processes such as measuring and test, control of non-conforming product, change management and concession/deviation management. Other duties may be assigned depending on business needs. May perform 100% inspection or statistical sampling of assembled parts or sub-assemblies. Receiving inspections according to inspection plans. Reports to: Quality Manager Supervisory Responsibilities: None Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED preferred. Minimum 5 years inspection experience with various gauging and equipment. Determined on a task by task basis and monitored by Supervisor. ISO internal auditor. Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications. Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred. Use precision measuring instruments, micrometers, gauge blocks, veneer calipers, meters, and indicators Physical Demands: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. >35 lbs requires hoist and/or 2 person handling. Requires to stand for majority of daily work. Work Environment: Involves frequent exposure to cold and hot temperatures, humidity, dust, vapors, fumes, vibration and other loud noises from the plant.
