As part of our expansion strategy, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to lead initiatives and drive growth in this key segment. Summary: Managing the Procurement department by search, qualifying, monitoring, visiting and ranking suppliers. Creating and establishing Procurement management procedure and ensuring that these procedures are followed in the department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Good organizations skills required. Control of purchasing department budgets. Must be qualified to find potential suppliers, negotiate prices and terms, and make agreements or contracts for purchases. Getting the best price possible for goods that meet the quality standards and parameters of the organization or department. Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with preferred suppliers. Insure that material required is on hand at all times for production. Maintain close relationships with materials providers to ensure prompt delivery of materials as needed. Collaborate closely with department manager in charge of production in their areas. Meet periodically with managers to assess and predict materials requirements for future projects or production processes. Assess whether materials meet standards and look for new providers if required. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Strong combination of analytical and interpersonal skills. Analyze supplier proposals to get the best value on materials. Communicate well and maintain rapport internally with company leaders and externally with supplier sales reps. Strong working knowledge of the industry, products and materials necessary to ensure success in purchasing the right materials. Must be able to read and understand Technical Blue Prints. Must be familiar with metals and manufacturing processes. Be able to manage difficult or emotional vendor situations, Respond promptly to department needs for supplies or parts. Solicit vendor feedback to improve service. Respond to all inquiries and meet commitments. Oral and written communications must be excellent. Must travel to vendor sites as required. Education Requirement Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have at least 5 years of experience.
